Privacy policy

This policy covers the tempmails.online website and the Temp Mail app for Android, both run by Bathan Dev. The short version: there are no accounts, we do not keep the mail, and your recent addresses stay on your own device.

What we do not collect

You never give us your name, your own email address, a password or payment details. There is no sign-up, so there is no account or profile about you for us to hold.

What is stored on your device

The addresses you generate, the one in use, and your address-style setting are saved in your browser’s local storage (or, in the app, in the app’s own storage on your phone). That is what lets you reopen a recent inbox. It never leaves your device as a list. Clear this site’s data in your browser, or clear the app’s storage, and it is gone.

How email works here

When you generate an address or check an inbox, the request goes to the email provider that runs the shared accounts, the Gmailnator API on RapidAPI, either through our server or straight from the app. The answer comes back to you. Messages are not stored on our servers. They remain with the provider, which may keep or recycle them according to its own policies.

Public addresses are shared. Anyone who knows an address can read the mail sent to it, so do not send anything private to a temporary address.

Emails open in a sandbox with scripts turned off. Images inside an email are loaded from wherever the sender put them, as they would be in any email app, so the sender’s server may see that the image was fetched along with your IP address.

Server logs and rate limits

To stop the free service being drained by scripts, our server counts requests per IP address for a minute and an hour at a time. Those counts are held in memory and are not written anywhere. Our host, Vercel, keeps standard request logs (such as IP address, time, page requested and browser type) for security and to keep the site running, under Vercel’s privacy policy.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. It sets cookies and receives information such as the pages you view, your approximate location and your device type, with IP addresses anonymised. We do not send it the addresses you generate or anything from your inbox. You can opt out with Google’s opt-out browser add-on or by blocking cookies for this site.

Ads in the Android app

The Temp Mail app shows ads from Google AdMob. To serve and measure them, Google and its partners may collect your device’s advertising ID, IP address and information about how the ads are viewed. You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalised ads in your Android settings, under Google › Ads. How Google uses this data is explained in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. The website shows no ads.

Children

The service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Your rights

Because we hold no account or profile about you, there is usually nothing for us to show, correct or delete. If you think we hold something about you, or you want to use a right you have under the GDPR or a similar law, write to us at support@tempmails.online and we will answer.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date at the top. See also our terms of service.
